Planners should not be expected to be experts in the processes of each Business Unit and Support Unit. The Business Continuity SME realizes that even if the planner has extensive knowledge in one area, the knowledge may not apply to the organization’s operation.

A smart Business Continuity SME knows how to ask questions and, more importantly, how to listen to the answers.
