Business Continuity plan types

There are three basic Business Continuity plan types:

  1. Business Unit plans, in which the focus is on the business unit and its risks.
  2. Support Unit plans, generally Facilities or IT/MIS, in which the focus is on the support unit and its risks.
  3. Enterprise plans which provide a comprehensive approach to protecting both Business Units and Support functions.

Given the myriad inter-dependencies, the Enterprise plan always is the preferred option.
