Mr. Glenn,

I came across your article on "Business Continuity Defined" and wanted to tell you how informative and to the point it was. I felt the article really touched the key elements to what a business continuity plan is and why it is so important.

Just this past May I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Administrative Management from Arkansas Tech University. Before graduating I completed a six-month internship at Salt River Project, Arizona's main source for power and water. I worked in the Risk Management Department as a contingency planner. I was exposed to so many new and exciting ideas/concepts pertaining to business continuity.

I have been told time and time again that this was not a wise decision on my part to get into this field, but when I read an article like yours though I cannot help but feel that this field is so important to the survival of a company, agency, etc. My question to you is, how do I get in this field? I have worked so hard, but have fell short. I don't want to give up on this profession and was wondering if you had any words of advice or knowledge of a company that is looking for an eager person such as myself.

I apologize for the length, but I want to market my desire for this profession and increase the awareness of it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. I hope to hear from you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Parker
